Evaluating- production of CVS
Evaluation
This project was all about making our own promotional video, we were given a charity which we had to research and also go to where they are located and do an interview, the interview was very inspiring and we put this footage in our video.
- What were you asked to do?
We were asked to create a video. The video had to be formed as a promotional video because we had to go and interview them and get information to put on our video for it to inspire other people and also to get people involved and help.
-What were you making the video about?
The video was all about a charity called ubuntu arts and it is for mentally disabled people or people that have experienced the disability, the charity is all about individuals using there minds and creativity to draw and paint amazing art.
-Purpose of the video?
The purpose of the video was to inspire others that have mental disability and encourage them to start creating art and also to make the charity more known so they can make the charity really big.
-Production stages
-Pre-production
When we were first given the task we had to research about the charity we were given, we had to find out as much information as we could so we have knowledge of the charity when we visited to do the interview.
-Production
When we arrived at the location we were given, I individually thought this charity will have its own building but it was sharing, we were told to go and wait in a room when we arrived and during that time we set up the camera and was ready to interview. When we interviewed them we asked them specific questions and they answered them question fluently with no struggle at all they also inspired us as a group about how we view art compared to adults, VERY INSPIRING.
-Post production
We have been editing footage; New footage and old, we have combined them together so we can have all key information in our video so it will be more inspiring for the viewers that will watch the video and we also hope that the video will encourage more people to join or even help out.
-Problems?
During the whole process we didnt really struggle with any problems because we started our work strongly and we will end our work strongly.
-Strengths and Weaknesses?
In this task i thought my strongest points were when we did the filming in the interview and also the commitment i had towards the editing and research. My weaknesses are the editing because we filmed alot and it is hard to find the right information to put in our video.
-Opinion of the finished product?
The opinion of the finished product is that the work that was completed was to a high standard and it also had all the correct information explaining what the charity is about and also quotations from the people who have memeberships from the charity. The finished product has graphics, music and information. Hopefully this video will inspire others to join and be creative.

Getting more out of your camera
Flash
The flash in a picture is artificial light, flash should only be used when you are in a dark environment rather than when you are outside, flash should also be used for taking pictures of objects that are close instead of miles away because the flash won't be noticed on a long distance picture. In my picture the flash should not have been used because you won't be able to see yourself when taking a picture in the mirror because the flash gets in the way.
White balance
White balance is all about the process of removing unrealistic colour casts, so that objects that appear white in person will be rendered in the picture when taken. in my pictures you can see that when the white balance was used. It changed my picture so that it had a tint of blue on it this can improve my picture in many ways but sometimes the original picture is good enough.
ISO
Iso is about how much light your camera needs to take the best picture. if you have lots of light a low iso would be fine, the more light the higher the iso. In my picture i would of needed the low iso because i was outside where lots of light could get into my camera.
AF mode
Is auto focus mode, the camera should automatically focus on a certain object and then it should blur out the background. In my pictures i would say that it helped because it made my dr dre beats stand out when the camera focused on them rather than the background.
Burst
Burst mode is taking a bunch of pictures rapidly instead of taking 1 by 1, this is good because then out of 8 pictures you will be able to get one good picture which will stand out from the others. burst can be used for sports or something that is moving really fast. Out of all my pictures i would say that my last one was the best because it showed emotion from his face, plus burst is good because it helps catch any brilliant moment really quickly.
Exposure
Is all about how much light goes into the sensor on the camera in one picture.
if the camera is exposed for too long it will be called a wash out and if the picture is exposed for no time at all this will be come out really dark. In my pictures i would say that the exposure being on high when there is a lot of light is bad because the picture will come out very bright and it won't be easy to see what you are looking at.

photography composition
Task 1 is all about taking pictures which are portrait and landscape. portrait is for pictures where you take a picture of a person and landscape is where you take a picture of the environment having no people in it.
How i used it?
I used landscape and portrait wisely because when taking a portrait picture you are only suppost to take a picture of a person and also have the camera a certain way. I also used landscape to an advantage aswell because your only suppost to take a picture of a scenery and also have no one in the picture.
Task 2 is all about the rule of thirds, the first two pictures is about having the sky 3/4 in the picture and having the earth on the bottom line of thirds, the second picture is about the earth being on the top line of rule of third and having the sky only 1/4 of it in the picture. The last one was about the peoples eyes being on the top line of rule of thirds.
How i used it?
I used the rule of thirds well because i made it as accurate and on the line as possible, i made sure that when i was using the camera that the peoples eyes were in line and if they wern't i would repeat it.
Task 3 is about diagonal rule, this rule is too make the picture more interesting instead of it being boring.
How i used it?
I used it to an advantage because there were alot of straight lines around school but i choose to pick two straight lines which were obvious, i also choose the two objects because they looked funky when they were slanted.
Task 4 is all about symmetry, this also makes the picture very interesting, by making it symetrical on both sides. it is also very eye catching so the audience will enjoy looking at the picture.
How i used it?
I used this photography skill wisely because you had to search very carefully what symmetry you took a picture off because if you took a picture of something which wernt symmetrical you would have done it wrong.
Task 5 is all about similar balance, this is taking a picture of the object in the background but using another object more closer making out that this is our main target but it can leave the picture being empty.
How i used it?
In this picture i used a chair as my decoy target because it was obvious and it looked very artistic, but maybe next time i could have choosen a different back ground because that could be accused of being the main target of the image.
